 • Or you can follow along with the group every step of the way. Your choice.

 What you get
 • Step-by-step videos from my kitchen, open to you from day one

For as long as I can remember, homemade bread in Newfoundland kitchens was crafted with love, even though it was also just what had to be done. My grandmother was nine years old when she became responsible for making bread for her family. School was somewhere she went when there was nothing else to do, so she rarely made it there. Before she passed, I recorded her telling me, in her own words, about food and what it meant to our family. It's the only recording of her voice we have.

Making bread was about providing for your family, out of necessity. Now, we get to choose it. We get to nurture the people we love by learning these same practices, on our own time, for the joy of it. There's nothing like coming home to that smell, or waking up to it. Even my own kids feel it today. Giving someone a handmade loaf, in a world that moves as fast as ours does, is a small, beautiful act.
Sourdough isn't about exact times and exact weights, it's about understanding. People have been making it for thousands of years, long before anyone had a scale or a clock. This course will test your patience and teach it back to you, slowing down, paying attention, working with your hands. It's a practice, like yoga or meditation, not a magic pill. You may not walk away with a perfect loaf, and that's alright, some of mine still aren't, even after years of doing this.

What you get is thirty days standing beside me in my kitchen, through video, through Facebook check-ins, through as many conversations as you want. Every step has its own video, shot right in my kitchen, showing you exactly what to look for and why.

And it doesn't end when the course does, you have lifetime access to our private Facebook group, so if life gets busy, you can always come back and pick up where you left off.

Awesome class Lori! I love this participatory way of learning - it really helps me retain what we learned. I made my second loaf yesterday and it was better than my first, so I am seeing progress and I am enjoying the process thanks to you!

Wendy Marczack.

Thank- you Lori! Feel so grateful to have had your guided expertise. I will get a perfect loaf… struggling now calibrating an older stove. Starters are strong and going well… little brats! They’ve been hard to tame.

Cynthia.

I am gonna try my hand at that Irish soda bread tomorrow. Thanks Lori for your patience with me through this journey. I can't wait for the Wildcrafted Pantry course!!!!

What a wonderful experience and education I received in the Daily Dough course. Lori has a way of explaining the processes that draws you in, and treats each and every question posed by her students as an important part of bread making. Having continued access to her posts and videos and other bakers' successes and failures is an added bonus. This course was visible value for my investment, with a grand dose of belly laughs.

Such an enjoyable course. Lori is incredibly patient, endlessly flexible, and ready to hold everybody's hand as we learn together all about sourdough. Definitely recommended.

Thanks for all your patience. Looking forward to the next course.

What You'll Build

Together, you'll build an intuition for fermentation, a feel for dough that no recipe card can teach you, and the confidence to trust your hands over the clock. You'll build a genuine sense of pride in what you're growing, quite literally, starting with a jar of flour and water. And you'll build something bigger than bread: a community you can always come back to, long after the course ends, whether your loaf turns out perfect or falls flat.

Life doesn't stop for a starter. Going away for the weekend? Someone in the group has done it. One student, worried about leaving hers alone while she travelled, named her starter Kevin and left a sign taped to the oven: "Kevin is in the oven, don't turn it on." We still laugh about it. That's the real takeaway: it's forgiving, it's fun, and the people you meet along the way are half the reason to sign up.

Is This For You?

  • Anyone curious about sourdough, whether you've never touched a starter or you've tried before and given up.

  • People who want to learn at their own pace, without a rigid schedule hanging over them.

  • Anyone craving a bit of connection along with the skill, not just a solo project.

  • People who like the idea of getting it wrong sometimes and laughing about it, rather than chasing perfection.
This Course Is Especially Good For
  • Beginners who've been too intimidated to start.

  • Busy people who can't commit to a fixed class time.

  • Anyone wanting to reconnect to their traditions, sourdough is a global practice, passed down in kitchens everywhere.

  • Anyone who's tried sourdough before and had it flop. This is built for a do-over, with support this time.
